History of the Oreland Fire Company
The Oreland Volunteer Fire Company Charter is dated 1908 The first recorded minutes, found so far, start January 2, 1911 Meetings were held in Aiman’s Hall, which was located on Plymouth Ave. At the time the fire company owned a fire wagon, a horse drawn wagon, without the horse. Manpower was the prime mover of the day when fire struck.

The wagon is believed to be the fire company’s first fire vehicle. The sign in the wagon is advertising for the Fire Company Carnival that was to be held July 28 – 30, 1921.

In 1980 The fire company moved into are current location on 1500 Bruce rd around the corner from the orignal firehouse.
